Chalk of the Town

Roam the streets of Old Town and experience true art in the streets. Beginning at 10a.m., artists will take to the streets creating masterpieces on their assigned piece of sidewalk, using only chalk. The creations will be completed by 3p.m. when the judging will commence. Visitors to this event will be allowed to vote for the People’s Choice winner all day and winners will be announced at 5p.m. Families are also welcome to participate in the kid’s sidewalk art area. Old Town Scrapfest

Scrapfest is a sculpture competition in Old Town Lansing. The sculptures will be made entirely of Scrap materials found at the Friedland Industries yard. The process will be under time, and total weight of scrap requirements. The creativity involved is limitless. Scrapfest is an opportunity to have your piece be judged, and shared with the world.

Lansing JazzFest

The Lansing JazzFest is a two-day free music festival that will bring national, regional, and local acts to an audience of 15,000+ people from across Michigan and nearby states. The festival will take place in the streets of Old Town with vendors lining the streets offering ethnic food, beverages, art, clothing, and crafts, and nearby galleries and boutiques opening their doors during festival hours. + music work shops and seminars.
